“The mountains are there to remind us that life has its ups and downs. One advantage of freeriding is that it brings us back to the top effortlessly after the descent. But the most important thing is to understand and appreciate the value of the moment! “

Nicole Grange-Berthod

Born in the heart of the Alps, I was immersed in the world of mountains and mountaineering from an early age. The youngest of a family of four children, I used to take advantage of my eldest’s absence to sneak out and borrow their climbing equipment and take my first steps in the Borgne gorges, just a stone’s throw from the family home.

What started out as a simple hobby soon became a passion! UIAGM mountain guide since 2013

Riders

Milon Favre

A steep slope snowboarder with many first runs through the Alps, Peru and Pakistan. And now also Powsurfer with 4 years of experience.
Milon is also the founder of the Milon Snowboards brand, which this year will merge with the other local Diablerets Forest Snowboards brand.

Meet Milon

Fred Würsten

“Mountains and Snowboard are the fuel that keep me going on!”

Meet Fred

Xavier Schumacher

Conocido por hacer las cosas siempre diferente a otras personas. Adicto a la nieve, esquiará en cualquier condición! Según él, mayo-junio son los mejores meses porque comienzas a esquiar en la nieve y terminas en la hierba 🙂

Meet Schumi

Kevin Guri

Kevin’s route can be seen as the mirror of his path, relaxed but effective. Therefore, although not yet an athlete in the soul, he finished third in the SFR Tour race, thanks to his hard work, so he decides to test himself with freeride by entering the Freeride World Qualifier… which he amazingly won. So, he was launched towards the Freeride World Tour. After two seasons on the circuit, even if he did not reach the limited number, he benefits from a Wild Card… and won at Verbier, in honour of the invitation. Eventually, after so many years of being in awe of the starting line, Kevin hangs up his competition boots, to follow in the footsteps of his predecessors at the sports club. He manages and trains Les Ménuires freeski school, Freeski Belleville, which he supervises with Antoine Diet and Victor Galuchot. He always keeps shooting, in front of or behind the camera. Thus, Sur leur Trace, a film made in 2018 and released in 2019, was awarded at the Tarbes freeride film festival, and was voted as favourite at the High Five festival in Annecy. Clear evidence of this man’s ride.

Meet Kevin

Pierre Guyot

Free skiing has found his bard. Pierre is a hymn to good company, sometimes with a thin slice of bacon and other times as poet of the ordinary. Communicating the joy of skiing while laughing about yourself, transmitting beauty without bothering about the great exploits, Pierre is unique as he has the ability to lift skiing from its ridiculous gravity status.

Meet Pierre

Sven Mermod

Sven is the ultimate ski freerider. He embodies smooth riding, speed control and aggressive movement.

Born in the heart of the Swiss Alps, he grew up between the forest and the peaks. Like a mountain goat, he climbs to the summit and goes down faster than ever.

Sascha Schmid

Sascha grew up on skis, his parents had a holiday home in the mountains, the next lift was not far away. So it came that Sascha completed his first ski race at the age of six. 15 years later, with some FIS races in his backpack, it was crystal clear to him that the best skiing would not take place on the slopes but next to them.
Since then some snow has fallen and melted, Sascha became Freerider Pro, started at some Freeride Worldtour (IFSA) and Redbull Snowthrills in Europe and North America and skied cross on WC level. Since 2004 Sascha also runs his own Bike & Freeski shop „Free-Mountain“ in Thun

Meet Sascha

Arnaud Ader

For him, Freeride doesn’t just mean skis, DVA, shovel, probe and Magic Pass… you need a big bag!
Since 15 years in Les Diablerets with the practice of ice and rock climbing, ski touring, and paragliding, he realizes that the possibilities are infinite…!
With the taste of the effort, and a beautiful transmission of the knowledge by the buddies of rope of Les Diablerets, he could ride lines of anthology, in skis, snowboard or powsurf!

Ranja Schlotte

There are only 2 seasons for Ranja: kite surfing and skiing. Sport is 365 days a year!

Meet Ranja

Constantin Gross

Meet Constantin

Sylvain Streuli

Not born but pretty much raised in the valley ! Passionate skier and snowboarder as well as an occasional freeheeler. I am deeply in love with the beauty of a nice curve drawn on a blank canvas … With or without an ice axe in the hand, dream pow or shitty crust, I am always the happiest guy when I can glide !

Meet Sylvain

Sylvain

Sylvain Nicolier or Suisse moi, is a traveller who makes video challenges all over the world. After winning traditional wrestling matches in Togo, eating the most improbable things in the world, rollerblading down the Gilbraltar rock and finally snowboarding in Lausanne, he will be in Les Diablerets, because the glacier is after all the best place in the world to be.

Meet Sylvain

César Pittex

Former alpine skier turned freerider several years ago. I’ve often trained in ski moutnereering on the Oldenhorn and perfected my alpine style at the bottom of the Olden slope. I love fast freeriding, but also steep slopes and being able to combine mountaineering, skiing and “performance” (on the way up).

Meet César

Noé Pittex

As a lover of the Ormonts valley, I love discovering its secrets. Whether skiing, PowSurfing or paragliding, there’s always something special to explore. A line, an image or an encounter punctuates my rides!

Meet Noé

Tim Beinert

Highly addicted to the natural force of water – frozen or liquid. In the winter time, freeriding is for me the most rewarding way to constantly challenge myself in a new way. No day is like the other and there are always new things to discover.
